I am approaching my fourth year working in the Irish travel and tourism business. I enjoy the fact that I can express my love of Ireland to others. If I had to choose a favourite place in Ireland, it’d have to be Powerscourt in Co. Wicklow. I often take a trip to it on a lazy Sunday afternoon to ‘blow away the cobwebs’.
I am a member of my local Gaelic football and hurling teams, amateur sports which I do not get paid to play but play anyway for the pride and passion I feel for my community and the unity it brings to it. Of the two sports hurling is my true love. The fact that it is a uniquely Irish game and the fastest field sport in the world makes it not just a joy to play but a joy to watch.
When I’m not working or playing sport I like to relax, chill out and take a stroll around my grandfather’s farm. The green fields and the sounds of cattle grazing and sheep bleating works wonders at helping me to unwind. On the weekends, if I’m not pulling pints in my Dad’s pub, I like to sip on a nice creamy pint of Guinness and soak in the traditional Irish music. There’s no better way to finish off the week.
